HIMSS Interoperability Showcases™ are unique events where vendors and organizations come together to demonstrate standards-based health IT applications in a venue that simulates typical healthcare settings such as Ambulatory, Hospital/Provider, Emergency, Chronic Care, and Public Health.

Interoperability Showcases were originally created to demonstrate commercially available products that included interfaces based on Technical Frameworks developed by Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE). The health IT marketplace is dynamic and the Showcase evolves along with the marketplace to serve as a venue to offer a real-world, real-time demonstration of today’s complex healthcare environments that are standards-based, primarily utilizing IHE and HITSP, but also providing an early look at other proven and tested standards.
